once upon a time…
a letter from mama —
White Rabbit Trips all started when a group of us Wilmington yogis stayed at a beach house one night to celebrate the full moon. When we arrived, we noticed the sign on the front deeming the name of the house White Rabbit. At the end of the night, the group of us gravitated towards the ocean to meditate overlooking the water + the moon. That got me thinking about the symbolism behind the White Rabbit + meditation. Of course, there's the fairy tale reference but no matter how we look at it, the White Rabbit is always in a hurry + in search of something. What we know through both the fictional character + through yoga + meditation is...the only way out is in. White Rabbit Trips events + retreats are all mindfully organized to illustrate that through introspection + meditation (or going down the rabbit hole of our minds), we can really begin to end the search for what + who we are + why we're all here. We hope you'll join us. Namaste.

MAMA RABBIT
White Rabbit Trips is a mindful events + retreats company based out of Wilmington, NC but the Rabbit Family is world-wide. Our teachers live on both the East + the West Coasts + in countries far beyond the place Mama Rabbit (our founder) currently calls home. From Savannah to LA, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Panama + beyond, our mission in all that we do is to go down the rabbit hole of the mind to come back out a more authentic version of the self.
Our mantra is: the only way out is in.
While we do offer pop-up yoga classes to the public. We don't just teach yoga. We honor the ritual + the physical practice — the bending + the strengthening of the body which inevitably also eases the mind — but we do not believe that yoga is the one + only answer for all people in all places in life. Meditation, however, is at its heart + thus meditation is the heart of community.
There are many definitions of meditation. We believe meditation — like love — comes in many forms — walking on water on a plexiglass board on top of a wave, carrying a message from head to heart all the way down the length of the arm to the tips of the fingers holding ink to page, listening to lyrics in a song, through the words, through art, flying high above the world we know in a plane, jumping off some crazy cliff into a beautiful blue bay — any experience can take you there. And, by there we mean in.
We honor ritual. We seek travel. At times, this means holding space for the breath in the same place at the same time for practical meditation. Other times, our meditations are more abstract.
We wear rabbit masks to speak our truth. Each day, people tend to wake up, put on make up, wear particular clothes, affix name tags to these clothes adorned with titles, drive certain cars, use money to purchase material that make them feel more "me." It has even become common to surgically alter the face, the body, to go back to the the way things used to be. But we all know the true you — the child inside — has little to do with the wrinkles worn on your face + everything to do with a soulful connection to the self, to the earth + to the Creator.
It is through these things we call meditation that we seek to remove this mask + return to who we really are deep down. The Rabbit seeks shelter inside.
